Hello everyone! I am (re-)introducing myself on here!
My name is Aya Abdeen, and I am excited to start the independent media outlet of Valley Women’s Basketball Network, all things on the Phoenix Mercury & the WNBA coverage!
I attended the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University and I graduated in Spring 2025.
Ten years ago, on May 29, I began following the WNBA when I attended my first Phoenix Mercury game. Franchise legend Diana Taurasi scored 28 points and made five three-pointers in the win over the Washington Mystics. She is the player who made me fall in love with the game, and the rest is history.
Now, I am excited to continue sharing insights on the Mercury and the WNBA for years to come!
